Our Story
The journey behind Humbhaha Wild Retreat
The Humbhaha Journey
Humbhaha Wild Retreat was born from a passion for Sri Lanka's natural beauty and wildlife. Founded in 2018 by Fernando and his family, the retreat began as a small eco-lodge with just two cabanas.
Having grown up near Yala National Park, Fernando wanted to create a space where travelers could experience the magic of Sri Lankan wilderness while supporting conservation efforts and local communities.
Today, Humbhaha has grown into a beloved retreat offering unique accommodations and authentic experiences. Our location near Yala National Park makes us the perfect base for safari lovers. Fernando ensures your adventure is unforgettable, from arranging safaris to sharing local wildlife tales.

"We wanted to create a place where nature and comfort coexist in harmony."
- Fernando, Founder
